Lertlah and Loy Krathong

It has been a long time since my last post. Another trip to cambodia, halloween, a new job, and my computer crashing. Renewed the visa for another 30 days again, and have continued to work at the club around my house. I also began what seems to be a dream job as a kindergarden teacher at Lertlah School. I teach K1-1 and K1-2. K1 is the youngest kids after nursery and 1 and 2 are the youngest of the K1's. So my kids are about 2 and 3. They are soo smart it incredible. Not only are they learning two languages but they can do ABC's, Count to 20 and know about animals, weather, and a bunch more. All of this and they are the cutest things ever. Today is Loy Krathong which is the celebration and thanking of the rivers. Everyone makes floats from banana trees and flowers and pushes them out on the river with a lit candle on top. Enough. Heres some pics.

Cambodia and Club Shows

On Friday morning I took a trip to Cambodia at 5AM in order to extend my visa. The trip was not long but I ended up sitting next to this goon whose arm blubber kept creeping over to my side, On top of that I could hear his Israeli tunes blasting out of his neon green ipod mini. We took the 3 and a half hour ride to the border where we entered at Poipet. It is a casino town all Thai owned with a lot of very poor people. We hung out at a hotel/casino for a couple hours where there was a buffet. I got into a conversation with an english guy who has been living abroad (thailand, hongkong, japan) and traveling since about 1990 working in television, photography and as a DJ. Our chat made things quite a bit more enjoyable. I got home around 4 and managed to catch some Z'z before I headed out to club kachood where I had a performance.

I got to the club around 8:30, had a bite of some really tasty fried rice and threw back a malibu and mango and a few heinekens. The DJ that night was DJ AJ (pictured below) He was spinning while I was hyping up the crowd. Then there was a live band, us, a bikini fashion show, us, live band, my stage performance then we pretty much kept it up till the end of the night. People told me after the show they had a great time and I took pictures with a few of them. Saturday after some basketball, ping pong and swimming AJ invited out to perform with him again at another club. Me ad AJ got a good thing going, I beatbox on stage while he incorporates scratching into it. So more to come soon.

We Be Clubbin

So recently we have been hitting alot of the clubs as well as meeting some famous performers. The more popular clubs here are all in one area called RCA. In the last couple of weeks we have been to Route 66, Slim, Box and In Finity. Route and Slim are very crowded on weekends usually a cool group of people but whats different is people here dance by themselves and not with each other, with the exception of girls. Box usually has less people but the vibe is cool, I have been able to beatbox and freestyle there and there are B boys that come and perform with thier crew. In finity had a show when we went that was not that good but there were a few famous people in the crowd that we got to meet. Other than clubs we got a chance to check out bangkok university, got japanese food and rummaged through old things in Maki's house.

This is the link to the video I shot a couple weeks back http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xPhtHmPszww

English and Eats'

I taught more english this week, im prob. the best english teacher ever. That might not be true, I find that i can use a lot more words in sentences than I can actually define. Pronunciation is what's most important to the students, and believe it or not when I attempt to speak properly I can actually do it. Other than that It was Momma Junko's B-day yesterday and we went out for seafood. We couldn't decide between the deep fried shrimp salad and the crap meat salad, so we just got both.

Making Music Vids and Teaching English

Last friday I went with Ken and friend Mint to appear in a Golf&Mike music video. We weren't sure what we would be doing but ended up leading a group of extras in a silhouette scene and my own scene a the club DJ. We got a lil pocket change for being in it as well.

We had sashimi for dinner on Saturday and Maki's family came over on Sunday to chill and eat food. Cousin, Aunt, Uncle and Grandma. Monday I went to the language school down the road and asked for a job, I ended up test teaching a class for about 20 minutes. Never in a million years did I think I could be an english teacher, but its looking like I will.

"I like to forget my camera"

So over the last few days the internet at the house has been off, right now im at the hospital (OMG) not for me though, the entire fam has been getting stomach aches sans Momma Junko and I. Over the last few internetless days I got a fresh haircut, ate sushi, drank whiskey, went to malls, saw Tomo perform at the mall, played a game of game of monopoly, ate pizza...the was a pizza on the menu that has a cheesy hotdog INSIDE the crust ;p...we didnt get that one. But as the caption above mentions I didnt bring my camera to any of these events. However....Maki did so I will post pics as soon as I get them from her computer. I am picking up more and more language here, and I walk to 7-11 all by myself wo0o0o. I'll be just another one of the locals soon enough.

Clubbin in the Rain

On saturday I ate more noodles, relaxed at home and the went to a club called Route 66 in the rain with Ken and his best friend Oonk ( mostly American hip hop and R&B). Sunday morning I gave honey (the Gold Labrador) a shower, ate fried chicken and curry at Grandma's house, and helped get a live frog out of honey's mouth (which didn't expect the slap shop I accidentally gave it while trying to sweep it out of the yard).
